Mandy Young and Troy West have been promoted internally, according to Educational Media Foundation (EMF), the parent organization and programmer of the two biggest Christian music radio networks in the world.
Mandy Young assumes the position of vice president of radio with immediate effect. Mandy started working with EMF in 2009, and she has held positions including co-host of the Air1 morning show, host of the midday show, assistant program director, music director, and, as of 2018, Air1 program director. Mandy’s responsibilities increased once more in 2020 when she was appointed EMF radio group program director, where she oversaw the programming for both Air1 and K-LOVE.
According to Jim Houser, chief content officer at EMF, “Mandy’s vision for K-LOVE and Air1, as well as her love for the Gospel, has come into full focus.” The future of both networks is being shaped by her leadership in the development of an innovative worship format for Air1 and her direction of the K-LOVE on-air sound. Mandy is prepared to use her extraordinary intuition, intellect, and experience to other EMF radio brands now that she has excellent teammates on the team.
Mandy will concentrate her efforts on long-term plans, strategies, and initiatives for the networks and aid the ministry in navigating the ever-evolving radio industry. Jim Houser continues to receive her reports in person.
Troy West is given a promotion as program director of EMF radio. Troy is a master at making a station sound superbly technical, according to Mandy. He is the ideal option to complete our programming leadership because of his attention to detail and love for ministry. I am looking forward to working with him to advance K-LOVE and Air1 to new heights.
After being appointed by Mandy as the EMF radio group’s associate program director in 2021, Troy will continue to answer to Mandy and manage K-LOVE and Air1’s daily programming, talent coaching, and operations.
Troy brings expertise and a track record of success from his previous work as program director at 89.3 KSBJ Houston, station manager and program director at JQ99 WJQ Grand Rapids, Mich., and program director at WAY-FM West Palm Beach, Fla.
