1K Phew Releases Solo Album : AS I AM

Reach Records Award-winning musician 1K Phew  has released “As I Am” his debut official solo album. Come as you are, the album’s theme, conveys a significant message that is sure to strike a chord with many who know God yet feel confined to the streets. 1K Phew makes it a point to write music that the holy yet hood can identify with. It’s important to keep it more than 100, but 1000, for 1K Phew!

“A lot of people think you got to put on for the church and even for the streets, but you can really come as you are,” he explains. “I grew up in the church, but was lured into the streets. Although I went to church all my life, I thought I could do everything without God. It was during the pandemic that I personally grew closer to God and found him for myself! As I Am is about me coming as I am, flawed and imperfect and being accepted by God.

The “Offering” and “Church House Trap House”, two of his previously released singles and music videos from the album, talk directly to his experiences growing up pious yet in the hood! His third song, “Safe” featuring Jai’ Len Josey, was a reflective prayer of thanksgiving to God for sparing him from a near-death experience.
