Jospeh Habedank Makes Southern Gospel History

It might be challenging to make a musical presence as a soloist in a style of music where family harmony and quartet type music predominate. But Joseph Habedank was asked to do just that almost ten years ago.

After leaving one of the most well-known family groups in Southern Gospel, he set out to develop his own sound by fusing his passion for this music with award-winning songwriting and a distinctive viewpoint. Additionally, Joseph Habedank has published the most #1 songs on the Singing News chart as a solo artist because to the recent radio success of his new track, “Child Of The King.”

This most recent single, “Change Is Coming,” off his fourth solo album on Daywind Records, topped the Singing News charts for the month of December. The talented author Habedank collaborated on the composition of “Child Of The King” with Don Koch and songwriting titans Dave Clark. The song gives Dave Clark and Don Koch the distinction of having penned a #1 song in each of the last five decades, making it the ninth #1 song Habedank has enjoyed as a songwriter. The first track from Joseph Habedank’s Dove Award-winning album Change Is Coming, as well as his other singles “Religion Isn’t Working,” “Goliath,” and “Shame On Me,” have all reached the top of the Singing News charts.
