Lionel Peterson, a renowned preacher and performer of gospel music from South Africa, reportedly died at the age of 74. The vocalist of “Peace (Jehovah Knows)” reportedly passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, after battling health concerns for the previous two years.
Multiple social media outlets shared the sad news of Lionel Peterson’s passing along with sympathies for the family and honors to the reverend. Many also provided personal accounts of the singer’s influence on their life.
Facebook user Matthew John wrote:
“Lionel Peterson has not only made a massive impact on my life but he has been an inspiration to the nations. He is not only a man that showed me immense love and embraced me every chance he got, he is my uncle. He has always been and will always remain, my family.’”
The Kenneth Copeland Ministries also shared their condolences with the Peterson Family. They wrote on Facebook; “It is with heartfelt condolences that we mourn the passing of Pastor Lionel Petersen 13/8/47 to 14/7/22 who has gone home to be with the Lord. He ministered the Gospel to a global audience for most of his life. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Valarie Petersen and family as they process his loss. May you find peace and comfort.
