The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has finally received a response from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in response to allegations that Muslims are not allowed to attend the church’s camp along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to the claim made by MURIC through its director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Muslims were stopped from conducting business in their banks or visiting their WAEC, JAMB, and other examination centers. They even went so far as to request that the presidency shut down the facilities in the camp.
He said; “Among the complainants are Muslims who registered for the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) as well as other examinations.
“Attempts by the candidates to enter the RCCG camp in order to check their examination centres are always rebuffed by RCCG securitymen who turn them back at the gates with clear messages that Muslims are persona non grata inside the camp,” MURIC had said.
The camp has since reacted to the news via her spokesman, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi during a recent interview, he described the allegation as fake and totally untrue.
Pastor Olubiyi said; “All I can tell you is that it is a fake news. Those behind it may have their own script they are playing out but I can assure you that the Redemption City of God remains accessible to any one who has a legal and genuine purpose for seeking access.”
