The prediction came from Prophet Ezenwa George Ritabbi, the founder of the Christ as of Old Ministry.
The preacher, also known as Prophet Ritabbi, was seen speaking to a crowded audience in the now-viral footage.
The contentious god remembered how he urged Nigerians to support Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in the general elections in 2023.
According to his comments, an Obi administration would have resulted in a considerably stronger economy than it does now and prevented the naira from plummeting.
The naira has consistently declined since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) opted to harmonize the foreign currency market in June of last year; early this year, it dropped to over ₦2,000 versus the US dollar.
Prophet Ritabbi mockingly commented on the situation, predicting that the currency will depreciate even lower to ₦2,500.
“They believed Peter Obi was my brother, which is why I said they should vote for him. We never begin walahi; the dollar is currently worth N1,500, and it will soon be worth ₦2,500. Amin,” he murmured.
Nevertheless, this reporter’s brief investigation revealed that the aforementioned video was posted to the pastor’s Twitter profile on February 19, 2024, despite the fact that Nigerians are presently responding to it.
